Fall Drone Light Show Training at T. Wingate Andrews in High Point, NC
Bringing Drone Entertainment to the Classroom
This fall, Fly Point Partners will be working with Part-107 certified students at T. Wingate Andrews High School in High Point, NC to explore one of the fastest-growing industries in aviation through hands-on drone light show training. The program introduces students to the technology, creativity, and teamwork required to produce professional aerial performances.
Learning the Complete Process
Students will gain experience in drone safety, FAA regulations, flight planning, animation design, fleet management, and live event operations. Rather than simply watching a drone show, participants will learn what it takes to bring hundreds of drones together to create synchronized animations in the night sky and assist the Fly Point Partners team with a show on the NC State campus as part of the Players League Ascend finals run by Stay Plugged In & NC State’s UAS Research Program on December 12th.

Building Career Skills
Beyond technical knowledge, students will strengthen leadership, communication, collaboration, and critical thinking skills while exploring careers in aviation, engineering, event production, public safety, and entertainment technology.
Preparing the Next Generation
By combining classroom learning with real-world experiences, the program gives students valuable exposure to emerging career opportunities while helping prepare them for college, certifications, and future careers in the drone industry.
