Introducing Players League Ascend
The Fly Point Partners team is excited to work with Stay Plugged In staff & NC State’s UAS Research Program for Players League Ascend, a hands-on drone STEM competition designed to introduce students to the exciting world of aviation, drone technology, AI, and career exploration, using tools like gaming. Through engaging lessons and real-world experiences, participants build technical skills while discovering how drones are transforming industries such as public safety, agriculture, construction, media, engineering, and live entertainment and how AI can be used to leverage those opportunities, leading to a live finale & drone light show with T Wingate Andrews High School students on the NC State campus on Saturday, December 12th.
Learning from Industry Professionals
The Fly Point Partners will be joining on to allow students to interact with experienced professionals within the industry and operate a drone light show alongside trained students at the conclusion of the competition on the NC State campus. Rather than relying solely on traditional classroom instruction, students work alongside staff members who lead educational programs, run drone businesses, organize events, operate drone technology, and help prepare the next generation of innovators.
Building Real-World Skills
Throughout the program, students explore drone flight, FAA safety principles, aerial photography, flight planning, artificial intelligence, and entrepreneurship through hands-on activities that encourage teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving.
Behind the Scenes of Drone Light Shows
As students develop their skills, they’ll also get a behind-the-scenes look at one of the industry’s most exciting applications, professional drone light shows. From animation and programming to flight operations and event execution, participants gain insight into how hundreds of drones come together to create unforgettable experiences in the night sky.
